Our daughter loves them, just not this version. They (the original version) came highly recommended by our lactation consultant to help our baby nurse better. The ball-like structure pressed her tongue down and taught her to suck without "humping her tongue". I recently tried to give my daughter one of these orthodontic versions and my daughter rejected it outright. I'm sure it's great, just not the shape she's used to. The product lasts and we have never had any punctures or tearing. We wash them with dish soap and hot water and purchase new ones every 3+ months. Our daughter only uses them at nap and bedtime, or for trips. HIghly recommend... the original. They smell rubbery when you first take them out of the box, but after the initial boiling, they are totally fine.
